1.1. The Dancing Tiefling
The three adventurers met for the first time at the ‘Nobody’s Inn’, located in the City of Ravenheart. The party arrived to the Inn one by one, each in a state of dizziness and confusion with no memory of who they are and how they arrived there.
The first to arrive was the Tiefling named Farlox. Instantly dropped in the middle of a bustling tavern, with fireplace roaring, ale flowing and rowdy guards winding down after a long day’s shift for the City Guild.
Farlox’s vision felt like it was just coming into focus and she struggled to get her bearings. A barmaid politely asks Farlox if she wouldn’t mind holding a tankard of ale while the skirmish between the guards in the opposing corner of the inn is settled. Farlox obliged and took the tankard from the barmaid, little did she know at the time that accepting this exchange would have lasting consequences.
Apon placing the tankard on the table in front of Farlox, a small Imp slowly emerged from inside the tankard and quickly hopped on to Farlox’s shoulder. As Farlox was still in a state of daze and confusion, it was unclear if the young Tiefling had overindulged in ale to get her to this state.
Farlox blinked as she stared at the tiny Imp that sat on her shoulder, as the Imp tilted his head, “Ello, what’s your name?”, he asked. His voice was shill and high in both pitch and energy. Farlox and the Imp continued this exchange, however the Imp grew impatient to Farlox’s confusion. “Right!”, the Imp cried, “I am Ump The Imp. Let’s make things interesting! I come with a caveat and part of that is you must fulfil any challenges you are set!”.
The Imp preceded to tell Farlox that unless she completed the task of dance, she would face death as the last drop of sand fell from the challenge timer. The timer began and Farlox complied, breaking into improvised dance in the corner of the tavern, as a room of already precautious patrons stared in bemusement.
At this point the door to the tavern flew open, as the second member of the party made his entrance, the Half-Elf Rogue had arrived…
